King got an idea in Paris...

During the reading in Hamburg, Germany yesterday King asked us if we wanted to hear a new story that he got the inspiration to while driving in Paris. The entire audience roared a ”YES” and King continued ”This is like pissing a good story out on the ground. Usually they're better if they just stay inside but I just love this concept.” and then he told us the idea.

So here's this guy who fly into La Guardia airport and his plane is late and he goes down to get his luggage and his luggage is of course the last one off the plane and the thing is he's coming to New York because although he's married he has a mistress and he told his wife his going to be home tomorrow but he's been detained on business. So he's all ready and gearing to go when he has all these things holding him back. So the plane is late, luggage is last, he goes out to the taxi, his at the end of the queue and he finally gets a cab and he goes into New York. As the cab pulls up next to another car he looks into it and sees a woman and a man sitting there and as he looks the man takes a razor out of his jacket and cuts the woman’s throat. Well, what does this guy do now? I don't know...


The public roared with laughter and when asked if this really was a story he was thinking about writing King said it's still in his head and so far nothing’s been written down but you never know. I for one though is looking forward to see where all this ends…

A live update from the signing in Paris (still 3,5 hours away) is that it's about 300 people there so far. If King signes about 4 books per minute and signes for 2 hours he'll be able to do about 500 books. There is still time in other words if you want to meet the King but you better hurry...

New King story!

November 12 (France):
- European press conference about 22/11/63 and Doctor Sleep.

November 13 (France):
- Book signing between 1.00 and 3.00PM at Mk2 Library, 128-162 Avenue de France, 75013 Paris, France. This is the only King will do during his visit.

- Exclusive interview report to JT 20h TF1

November 14 (France):
- Show "The Great Library, Special Stephen King." Live at 20:40 on France 5.

November 15 (France):
- 7-9am France Inter: Stephen King will be invited to the 7-9am show. According Telerama Stephen King participate in 8:20.

- The Mov. The radio announced Mov ': Stephen King will present live radio The Mov', Friday, Nov. 15, from 12 to 15h. It will be a special show in public, hosted by Thomas Rozec. There will be some listeners who will register on a registration form online. It will soon be online. You can ask questions on Twitter via the hashtag # KingLeMouv and possibly also by phone.

November 16 (France):
- Reading at 8:30 p.m. at the Grand Rex. Room capacity = 2800 people. During the evening, Stephen King will give a reading of his work, and a session of Questions / Answers to the public. And debate. Presented by Augustin Trappenard in the presence of Maxime Chattam.

Josh Boone To Bring Stephen King’s ‘Lisey’s Story’ To Big Screen

You would never think that Josh Boone has made only one film, the guy is already in high demand! Not only is currently filming the highly anticipated adaptation of John Green’s THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, he announced today that his next project will be an adaptation of Stephen King’s LISEY’S STORY.

LISEY’S STORY follows the story of Lisey Landon, the widow of famous novelist Scott Landon, as she recalls the life of her husband as she is being stalked and terrorised by one of her husband’s fans. King has stated himself that it is the best novel he has ever written.

Not only did King appear in Boone’s directorial debut STUCK IN LOVE, but Boone also revealed a very interesting backstory to how he become known to the writer:

“I wasn’t allowed to read Stephen King. I had to rip the covers off of Christian books and glue them to Stephen King books, so that I could read them. I remember reading The Stand under my bed when I was 12, and I hid the book in the box springs under my bed, and my mom found it and burned it in the fireplace. I wrote him a letter when I was 12, just to tell him how much I loved his books and how much I wanted to be a writer when I grew up and that he was my idol. I sent him a couple books, hoping that he’d sign them. I came home from school one day and my dad said, “There’s a box here from Stephen King.” He had written me this beautiful letter in the front covers of each of the books. My parents were just so moved by the generosity, that he was willing to take the time to do that, that they lifted the Stephen King ban. “

Josh Boone will start adapting the project after filming finishes for THE FAULT IN OUR STARS. Wyck Godfrey, Marty Bowen, and Isaac Klausner, who are producers for TFIOS, will also be producing LISEY’S STORY.

Season 2 will be 13 episodes long

Under The Dome, television’s #1 summer series in viewers and key demographics, will return in summer 2014 with 13 new episodes, it was announced today by Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment.

Stephen King, whose bestselling novel is the basis for the series, will write the premiere episode of the second season.

“We’re excited to tell more stories about the mystery of the dome and the secrets in Chester’s Mill, and are thrilled to have the master storyteller himself, Stephen King, tell the first one of next season,” said CBS Entertainment President Nina Tassler.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Samuel L. Jackson will star opposit John Cusack in Cell.

He'll star opposite John Cusck in the film adaptation of Stephen King's apocalyptic thriller.

Samuel L. Jackson will star opposite John Cusack in Cell for Benaroya Pictures and The Genre Company.

Tod "Kip" Williams is directing the film adaptation of Stephen King's apocalyptic thriller, and is set to begin shooting in January. Benaroya is financing the project, which International Film Trust will shop to foreign buyers at the American Film Market, which gets underway Wednesday in Santa Monica.

“It's really exciting to have such a great cast continue to come together on this project,” said Benaroya Pictures principal Michael Benaroya. “Our goal is to create exciting commercial fare with top talent to really deliver on the concept of an elevated genre film.”

Jackson will play Tom McCourt, an engineer and former solider who escapes from Boston with Cusack's character, Clay Riddell, after a mysterious pulse transmitted by cell phones spreads like a virus among the human population.

King wrote the adapted screenplay with Adam Alleca.

Richard Saperstein is producing alongside Benaroya, Brian Witten and Shara Kay. During his tenure as president of Dimension Films, Saperstein oversaw the film adaptations of King's The Mist and 1408.

IT remake has director and writer

Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the remake of IT now has a director and writer.

Warner Bros’ adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel It has a director and writer.

Cary Fukunaga, the hot-shot filmmaker behind last year’s adaptation of Jane Eyre, is boarding the project as director and will co-write the script with Chase Palmer, who previously adapted Frank Herbert’s Dune for Paramount.

Roy Lee and Dan Lin are producing It, as are Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg of KatzSmith Production.

Variety has some interesting news about the remake of Pet Semetary

No stranger to ghouls and ghosts, “28 Weeks Later” director Juan Carlos Fresnadillo looks ready to return to the horror genre as he’s in talks to helm Paramount’s remake of “Pet Sematary.”

Lorenzo di Bonaventura is producing the remake to the 1989 horror classic along with Steven Schneider. Matt Greenberg and David Kajganich wrote the script.
