Got this in the mail yesterday. It's the UK paperback edition of Revival (out Sep. 10) and besides the book it also contains parts of the intro by King to The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, parts of the intro to Mile 81 and part of Mile 81.
Just spoke to Lloyd Segan and when I asked about Haven being cancelled and according to him it wasn’t cancelled. This was what David Howe (president of the network) and the rest of the team envisioned it all to end over a year ago. I asked him if they did get a chance to do an ending or if the show cancelled after they were done with the season and here is what he answered.
Indeed the show was not canceled. A misfortunate headline. But yes all planned for.
Entertainment Weekly have talked to Cary Fukunaga who explained why he left IT:
“It’s never easy,” he says. “Chase [Palmer] and I had been working on that script for probably three years. There was a lot of our childhood and our experience in it. Ultimately, we and New Line have to agree on the kind of movie we want to make, and we just wanted to make different movies.”
“It’s like a relationship,” he continued. “You can try to make the other person who you want them to be, but it’s impossible really to change. You just have to work.”
It looks like there will only be 13 more troubled episodes of Haven but on the good side it seems they managed to get a good ending to the show...
The Troubles are coming to an end. Syfy has canceled its long-running supernatural drama “Haven,” which will end its run after the upcoming 13-episode conclusion to its fifth season, TheWrap has learned.
The cable network aired the first 13 episodes of Season 5 in 2014, with the second half set to premiere in October.
Showrunner Gabrielle Stanton told TheWrap that even though the decision came after Season 5 of “Haven” had wrapped, the creative team was prepared for the end.
“I’m sure as a fellow TV fan, there’s nothing more annoying than when a show kind of feels like it might be wrapping up, but they just don’t address it, they don’t come to any kind of satisfying conclusion,” she said. “I always think that’s cheating the audience a little bit, of a nice satisfying ending. So we really looked at these 13 episodes as if… If we were indeed going to end, what would be the best ending we could possibly do for Haven?”

I say let the Dome stay down and end this while someone is still watching. What do the rest of you think?
CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Monday that while no decision has been made about Season 4, they aren't ruling it out. "The dome is coming down at the end of this season, but that opens up a host of other storytelling opportunities," Tassler said.
The question came as Tassler was being asked about the overall performance of CBS's summer programming. While Tassler acknowledged it's been a tougher summer, she said she is happy with the network's summer strategy. "We went into summer to have more original programming on air," she said. "Zoo is the No. 1 scripted show, Dome is the No. 2 scripted show, and Extant is No. 4. ... The shows are still performing. ... [and] these stream well on Amazon."
The first part of season 5 of Haven is out on DVD and Blu-ray on September 8.
Haven Season 5: Press Release: "The Troubles are returning to Haven like never before in HAVEN: SEASON FIVE, VOLUME ONE, arriving on extras-loaded Blu-ray and DVD on September 8 from Entertainment One.
HAVEN: SEASON FIVE, VOLUME ONE, picks up with the aftermath of our heroes' victory over William. After having successfully banished him into the Void, Nathan and Duke are devastated to discover that the Audrey Parker they know and love has disappeared. In her place stands Mara, the unflinchingly malevolent "original" person responsible for creating the troubles many centuries ago. Finally freed from the confines of her do-gooder husks (Audrey, Lucy, Sarah, etc.), Mara proceeds to unleash a wave of chaos over Haven.

'Salem's Lot: The Deluxe Special Edition (Volume Two in the "Doubleday Years" Collection)
by Stephen King
Featuring full color wrap-around artwork by David Palumbo and full color interior paintings printed on a high-quality glossy stock and tipped into the book!
About the Book:
'Salem's Lot is a small New England town with white clapboard houses, tree-lined streets, and solid church steeples. That summer in 'Salem's Lot was a summer of homecoming and return; spring burned out and the land lying dry, crackling underfoot. Late that summer, Ben Mears returned to 'Salem's Lot hoping to cast out his own devils and found instead a new, unspeakable horror.
A stranger had also come to the Lot, a stranger with a secret as old as evil, a secret that would wreak irreparable harm on those he touched and in turn on those they loved.
All would be changed forever—Susan, whose love for Ben could not protect her; Father Callahan, the bad priest who put his eroded faith to one last test; and Mark, a young boy who sees his fantasy world become reality and ironically proves the best equipped to handle the relentless nightmare of 'Salem's Lot.
This is a rare novel, almost hypnotic in its unyielding suspense, which builds to a climax of classic terror. You will not forget the town of 'Salem's Lot nor any of the people who used to live there.

Citing sources and social media posts from crew members, Brothers says the CBS show will move to a new location, possibly Utah, for its fourth season. The summer series is wrapping its third season this week.
According to The Wilmywood Daily, word is there will be a sale of set pieces some time soon. Sets for “Under the Dome,” which is based on a Stephen King book, are currently the main feature for tours at EUE/Screen Gems on N. 23rd Street in Wilmington.

It’s been a while but it’s finally time for a new contest again here at Lilja’s Library. This time there are five (5) galleys of George Beahm’s new book The Stephen King Companion. This is the third edition of this book and it’s been updated a lot, and I mean A LOT, since the last edition and you really need to check it out. The book is published in October but you can have a copy in your hands in August. And it will be personally signed by George Beahm.
There will also be a surprise bonus that will be sent with the book, available nowhere else: an exclusive collectible that will not be for sale, or otherwise available, from Beahm’s personal archives of King memorabilia.
King just posted this on Facebook with the following text.
Me, along with a couple of friends--James Franco and JJ Abrams--on the set of 11/22/63. Everything looks cool.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Josh Duhamel joins the cast of 11/22/63.
Battle Creek alum Josh Duhamel has joined the cast of the Hulu miniseries from J.J. Abrams and Stephen King, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Duhamel will play Frank Dunning, the father of Jake's student Harry Dunning (played by youngster Jack Fulton and Leon Rippy), in 1960s Kentucky. Frank is the rakish town butcher, a ladies' man with an effortless smile that everyone welcomes — except Jake, the only man who knows the full violence of which Frank is capable.
No date has been set yet but here is the first photo from season 6.
When Season 5 resumes this fall, with the episode “New World Order,” “The tsunami of Troubles brought by Duke has Haven-ites locked down for their own safety,” showrunner Matt McGuinness tells TVLine. “Fortunately, Audrey and Nathan (Lucas Bryant) are locked down together, which is nice for them.”
Jeff Buhler talks Pet Sematary reboot with Dread Central
A remake of the original 1989 horror classic, which was directed by Mary Lambert and based on the novel of the same name by horror legend Stephen King, Buhler said of the status of his scripted re-imagining of Pet Sematary, “Since last we spoke [see our previous coverage here], director Juan Carlos and I literally spent another three months going over the script and fine-tuning the horror to the place where it needed to be.”
Buhler expounded of the reboot, which is being produced for Paramount by Lorenzo DiBonaventura and Mark Varhadian, “The characters in this script make some tragic decisions, and the horror is about the ramifications of those decisions. There are still the supernatural aspects of the book, with the pet cemetery and the burial ground from which things come back from the dead, but the real horror is, ‘What do these things do to the family? What does it do to a person to see their child killed, but then to know that they can bring them back? How do you tussle with that idea? And if and when you make that choice, what does that do to you? Will that child be the same? How can life ever return to normal?’”
He continued of their take, “This is pretty far from the 1980’s film, which I adore for certain things that are very intrinsic to that time period in terms of the genre, like a truck driver smoking a joint to a Ramones song. But when a little kid comes back with a scalpel and is like, ‘I want to play with you,’ it kind of becomes Chucky. With this one, we really wanted to get into the emotional aspects of it. There’s still plenty of visceral horror that’s explored, but I’ve always felt that if you lean more into the characters and into their emotional lives, when the visceral shit hits the fan, it’s ten times more scary.”
As for an intended start date of principal photography, Buhler said, “Right now the film’s budget is up for approval at the studio. We have the new script [completed] and will be ready to go when Juan Carlos returns from New York in August. He’s currently there shooting a pilot called ‘Falling Water’ for Gale Anne Hurd’s company, so hopefully things will be up and running in terms of production by the end of the year.”
Check out Kevin's new book.
Now, for the first time ever, Stephen King expert Kevin Quigley’s articles, reviews, and essays from the first thirteen years of the new century are collected in one place. From the beginnings of King’s involvement with the Internet with the publication of the first eBook bestseller, “Riding the Bullet,” to in-depth critiques of King’s most recent novels and stories, Thirteen Years is one of the most incisive and entertaining looks at King’s recent career yet compiled.
looks like IT has a new director.
Andy Muschietti, the director behind the surprise horror hit Mama, is in negotiations to direct It, New Line’s adaptation of the Stephen King classic.
It was to have started shooting in late June and a new start date remains unclear. Upon closing of Muschietti’s deal, New Line will begin a search for a new writer to tailor a script to Muschietti’s vision. The plan is for the adaptation to still take place over two parts.
Muschietti's sister and writing partner Barbara Muschietti will likely come aboard the project as a producer.
