Got an email from David MacKay today and he told me that he was looking into background actor gigs in Toronto and saw that IT is scheduled to start filming on June 27 and all through September 6. So if anyone lives close by, go there and return with photos... This might also mean that our first look at Pennywise might not be far off.
Here is an interesting look at how Bill Skarsgård could look as Pennywise. We have no information about if they will use the famous Tim Curry makeup or not but it gives us an idea of what could be.
This one is made by Cody Ong and is in no way connected to the movie.
Yesterday in Iowa King confirmed that he do have a book written, besides Sleeping Beauties that he’s written with Owen. He said he is done with a first draft of a book that is scaring him to death. No more info was given though.
He also said that The Talisman was due for a third book (don’t mean it will happen soon though) but didn’t reply to a questions about a new Dark Tower book.
On Sunday during his stop in Louisville, Kentucky King revealed that the book Sleeping Beauties that he and Owen has written will be released next year.
Here are the five Winners of an audio copy of End of Watch.

The question was:
Is it the same narrator for all three Bill Hodges books (Mr Mercedes, Finders Keepers and End of Watch) and if it is, what is his/her name?
And the answer is:
Yes. Will Patton reads all three books.

On the Charleston stop on the End of Watch tour King mentioned how he and his son Owen have collaborated on a book set in a women’s prison in West Virginia. A first draft of that work has been finished which means we probably won’t see it until the fall of 2017 at the earliest. No info on what kind of book it is but the title will be Sleeping Beauties.
Here is a report from the Charleston stop on the End of Watch tour from Paul Taylor.
Steve did not read from any work. He told all manner of anecdotal stories about how his ideas came about, the writing process, and stories about his finished books and movies. He had the audience rolling with laughter much of the time. He also mentioned how he and his son Owen have collaborated on a book set in a womens' prison in West Virginia. A first draft of that work has been finished. A Q&A followed. He was on stage about 1 hour 10 minutes.
Joel Thornsbury also reported that the title of Steve and Owen’s book will be Sleeping Beauties.
Today Cell is out on VOD. You can see it on iTunes and Amazon. Once you have seen it you can come back and read my review of the movie. But be warned, there are spoilers in the review.
Owen Teague, who plays Ben Mendelsohn’s son on Netflix’s Bloodline, has joined the cast IT. He will play Patrick Hocksetter, part of a group of bullies who torment the Losers Club. He is a psychopath and keeps a refrigerator full of animals that he’s killed. Teague also have a role in the upcoming Cell.
Kurt Roberts sent me these photos and a report on what happened yesterday.
Some photos from Pittsburgh, PA tonight. Fantastic evening, and King read us his short story The Music Room from the 'In Sunlight or In Shadow' collection edited by Lawrence Block coming out in December.
Some great questions from the audience including his thoughts on remakes (discussed IT a bit), being a reader/writer, and if he regrets anything he's published. (He's not fond of Tommyknockers, Dreamcatcher, and discussed pulling Rage from circulation. Made a joke about Children of the Corn sequels, and would like to see 'COTC vs Leprechaun' lol.
Very funny and very gracious, told a funny Creepshow story, and the basis for the now complete Mercedes trilogy.
Today is day two on the End of Watch tour. King will be in Sewickley, PA and maybe today he will reveal what's next from him. For those of you that will attend, send photos and reports.
King’s latest book, End of Watch, is out and I would like to do the same thing I did when Mr Mercedes, Revival, Finders Keepers and Bazzar of Bad Dreams was released. I want to put together a page with photos of you all and your copy of End of Watch. All you need to do is send me a photo (this should open an email but if it dosn't, send the photo to info[a]liljas-library.com) of yourself and the book (any edition works) and I’ll post them here. If you don’t want to send it by email you can also post it on the facebook page and I’ll grab it there. I would also like to ask you to include your name, town and country so that I can list that with the photo. You can see what it will look like at the Mr Mercedes page the Revival page the Finders Keepers page or the Bazzar of Bad Dreams page.
Let's get those photos collected! Some of you are even on all four pages, GOOD WORK!
MovieWeb reports that Jaeden Lieberher will join Bill Skarsgård in the remake of IT. He will be playing Bill Denbrough, the leader of the young friend group known as The Losers Club.
Today End of Watch is released and King starts his tour of the book. Please send photos from the events and any news King share so that I can post it here on the site.

Here is my review of End of Watch.
Is the ending a good ending? Yes! End of Watch is a great book and together with Mr Mercedes and Finders Keepers it’s a great story about the retired detective Bill Hodges.
James Franco will star in Drunken Fireworks.
Matt Rager, who collaborated with Franco on As I Lay Dying, The Sound and the Fury, and the forthcoming In Dubious Battle, will adapt King’s story. Franco and Vince Jolivette will produce under Rabbit Bandini Productions alongside Doug McKay, Robert Kaplan, Marc Senter, and Nathan Grubbs of Rubicon Entertainment. There is also a possibility that Franco will direct, but nothing has been confirmed.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that Pennywise will be played by the Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard.
Skarsgard is in final negotiations to star in the horror pic whose cast will also include St. Vincent actor Jaeden Lieberher, Finn Wolfhard, Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.
It's also interesting that they list six other actors. Not sure who they will play though.
Looks like IT will be filming in Port Hope in July according to Northumberlandnews. If anyone living there gets photos, send them to me and I'll post them here on the site. Port Hope eyed for remake of Stephen King’s ‘It’
PORT HOPE -- Pennywise the Clown could be terrorizing the streets of Port Hope this summer.
Third Act Productions has applied to film interior and exterior scenes of the upcoming feature film adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘It’ in the Municipality of Port Hope.
Based on the novel of the same name, ‘It’ follows seven young friends in 1989 who spend their summer battling an evil presence lurking beneath their small town.
The novel was adapted into a two-part ABC mini-series in 1990 starring Tim Curry in the titular role.
According to Variety, Will Poulter (‘We’re the Millers, The Revenant’) was last reported to don the red nose in Cary Fukunaga’s (‘True Detective Season One’) latest adaptation.
Filming is slated for various locations around the municipality between Monday, July 11 and Monday, July 18.
Filming times are currently to be determined, but the production company is requesting to shoot from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. each day. If the application is approved, the production company said it will have a “heavy” presence in the community.
“We are sensitive to the complexities of filming on location and we are aware that we are guests in your neighbourhood,” the production company wrote in a notice to residents. “Because of this, we endeavour to make it as uneventful an experience as possible for the residents and businesses closest to our work area and the neighbourhood in general.”
The production company has found potential locations to shoot, mostly in the downtown area. Here’s a preliminary shooting schedule:
Monday, July 11
• Port Hope Town Hall
• Memorial Park cenotaph
• Queen Street between Walton and Robertson streets
• Capitol Theatre
Tuesday, July 12
• Intersection of Mill and Walton streets
• Walton Street bridge
• In front and behind 16-22 Walton Street
• Port Hope Town Hall
Wednesday, July 13
• Queen Street between Walton and Roberston streets
• Memorial Park
Thursday, July 14
• The alley between Gould’s Shoe’s and Avanti Hair Design
• John and Hayward streets
Friday, July 15
• Cavan Street between Highland Drive and Ravine Drive
• Victoria Street South between Trafalgar Street and Sullivan Street
Monday, July 18
• Watson’s Guardian Drugs
The municipality’s current policy doesn’t allow filming in the downtown area between the hours of 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. So if the production company intends to use Port Hope as its backdrop, council will have to adopt changes to its film policy in order to allow filming downtown.
If approved, businesses that may be affected will have to privately negotiate with the production company for loss of business compensation.
Mark Pavia talks about The Reaper’s Image - a Stephen King horror anthology film. Several years ago, there were talks that you were working on a Stephen King anthology film. What’s the status on that project?
Yes, ‘The Reaper’s Image’ — a Stephen King horror anthology film I wrote. Kind of a modern Creepshow, you know? There hasn’t been a Stephen King horror anthology film like this in almost 30 years, so it’s all very exciting. So, where it’s at right now… as I mentioned, there is a script, and the project is currently being handled by Stephen’s agent, Rand Holston, a really terrific and supportive guy and one of the best agents in town. A lot of people have been asking about it lately, tremendous interest building, so we’ll see. It would be an amazing project, no question about it.
Have you had enough of contests yet? Well, I haven’t so here is another. I have five (5) copies of End of Watch on audio CD to giveaway. All you need to do is answer this question:
Is it the same narrator for all three Bill Hodges books (Mr Mercedes, Finders Keepers and End of Watch) and if it is, what is his/her name?
Easy right? Well there are two more ways you can earn and add extra entries to the contest and get a bigger chance to win. One is to send in a photo and yourself with Lilja’s Library (see instructions here) or you can order any Marv item from Zazzle or Café Press.
You need to enter before June 10 and send your answer, your name and address (so I can send you the prize if you win) to info[a]liljas-library.com. You can also send your photo to the same address.
From the moderator of King's board about who King would like to see play Holly Gibney in Mr Mercedes:
Steve's choice for Holly has always been Mary Lynn Rajskub, who I think would be great in that part. Will be interesting to see if that works out.
Hollywood Reporter reports that the TV Series will run as a 10-episode series on AT&T's Audience Network. David E. Kelley (Boston Legal, Ally McBeal, The Practice) and Jack Bender (Lost, Under the Dome) will executive produce the series, with the former set to write the first episode and serve as showrunner.
Brendan Gleeson and Anton Yelchin have been tapped to star in the drama produced as Detective Bill Hodges and Brady Hartsfield. No word on other casting yet.
Joining us for this episode is budding actor Jason Bremer who was an extra for some of the scenes shot in Dallas. He shares his experience as what it is like to be an extra. Thanks Jason!

When asked about the status on the Mr Mercedes TV show the moderator of King’s board had the following to say.
The last I heard from Stephen a month or so ago was that it had been back-burnered so don't expect to see it anytime soon.
Interview with Owen Teague who plays Jordan in Cell.
Jordan: a 12-year-old-boy studying at prep school that was devastated by the Pulse, Jordan faithfully remains with the headmaster, Charles Ardai, until they destroy the flock at the school and Ardai is driven to suicide by the phoners. Jordan remains with the group and provides the intellectual theory and comparison of the effects of the Pulse to that of a worm in a computer.
Here is a part of the interview.
Colleen Bement: What can you share about your experience making the upcoming film Cell?
Owen Teague: Cell was an amazing experience. That was my first time working on the set of a movie like that; heavy on stunts, special effects, blood, and science-fiction-horror stuff. Working with John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson was incredible. Both are really intense and made that terrifying world feel real. Stacey Keach was also amazing to work with. The whole thing was kind of surreal, because leading up to getting involved with that movie, starting in middle school, I had become obsessed with everything Stephen King. He’s one of my favorite authors. And so actually playing one of his characters, and saying his words, and being in a movie he was so closely involved with was just insane. Especially a film with such amazing people working on it. And the other thing was that while we were shooting it, a movie about a kind of apocalypse, we got hit with this horrible, freak snowstorm in Atlanta. I think they called it “snowmaggedon.”The crew got stuck in the bar where we were filming for like two days. So there we were, making this movie about four people in the middle of the end of the world, and outside, people were stranded because of a giant snowstorm. Other than that though, it was a great experience.
