OK, I'm going to try this live feed on facebook to do a live chat on April 26. The live chat where I just typed answers to your questions were a lot of fun so I'm sure this one will be as well. Will you join me?
Why do I do this?
- Because I love to talk King and I’d love to hear from all of you and what you have to say about King and Lilja’s Library. The site has been online for 20 years so I guess it’s about time right?
When will you do this?
- I’ll be online this Tuseday April 26 at 11PM my time (Sweden). That would be 10PM in London, 5PM in New York, 2PM in LA and 7AM (on April 15) in Sydney.
How long will you be there?
- I’ll try to be there as long as there are people joining me but at least for an hour. Hopefully longer.
What can you ask?
- Anything you want. If I can I will answer but please know that I don’t have the answer to everything
Smiley smile
Do we have to ask stuff or can we just chat?
- You can ask questions, chat, comment, post photos and do pretty much anything except disrespect anyone. I want us to play this nice.
Can you show us stuff you have?
- Sure, ask and I’ll post photos.
Will King be there?
- No, not King just me Lilja
If you head over to the facebook site you can check out a (pretty bad) testrun I did...

Deadline reports that Jackie Earle Haley in negotiations for a co-starring role opposite Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey in The Dark Tower.
Haley will play Sayre, a menacing humanoid who is the vampire leader and kowtows to no one.
Here is a description of Sayre from The Dark Tower WiKi.
Richard Patrick Sayre is a high-ranking can-toi and a member of the Sombra Corporation. He has the usual low man fashion sense, dressing himself in a garish suit. He also has the pool of blood on his forehead that never spills over.
As revealed in Wolves of the Calla, Sayre lured Father Callahan to Sombra's offices by offering a million dollars to the charity he was working for. It was a trap, where Sayre intended to use Type Three vampires to give Callahan AIDS. His plan failed when Callahan committed suicide by jumping out the window.
In Song of Susannah and The Dark Tower, Sayre is the man in charge of delivering Mia's baby. He calls Susannah/Mia in their hotel room, telling them to go to the Dixie Pig. He takes them through the door into Fedic, where Mia is placed on a bed to deliver Mordred Deschain. After his birth, Susannah grabs a gun and shoots Sayre in the head.
The Hollywood Reporter reports that a 10-episode TV show based on The Mist will begin production in the summer for a 2017 debut.
The Mist is coming a lot sooner to Spike TV than the cabler first imagined.
Nearly two months after ordering the Stephen King adaptation to pilot, the Viacom-owned network has handed out a straight-to-series, 10-episode pickup for the drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Insiders say that the network was so impressed with the series pitch and script that they opted to go straight to series rather than proceed with a typical pilot order.
"Christian and the entire team at The Weinstein Co.-Dimension TV have crafted the framework for a compelling and distinctive series that will resonate with Spike's expanding audience," Spike exec vp original series Sharon Levy said.
Dimension exec vp scripted Megan Spanjian will oversee the series alongside exec vp production and creative affairs Matthew Signer and senior vp production and development Keith Levine. Levy, senior vp scripted original series Ted Gold and senior director scripted Lauren Ruggiero will oversee for Spike.
The Mist marks TWC/Dimension's second scripted series and joins MTV's Scream reboot, with the latter set to debut its second season in May.
Here is a piece of concept art for Revival done by Vincent Chong. Looks really creapy if you ask me. Josh also told me that the movie should shoot later this summer andthat they are casting it now.
Looks like the first of the two IT remake movies will be filming in Toronto between June 27 and September 6. This article was posted on Stephen King's IT Remake and is from a Canadian newspaper.
For all of those of you out there who looked for Easter eggs in 11.22.63 here are some of them. I know a few more, do you have anything to add to the list.

On Thursday April 14 I’ll be doing a live chat on facebook. I’ve understood it there are different ways in doing it but I’m going to start off with just being online and answering any question you can throw at me…live. If there are a lot of people joining in on the discussion I’ll do it again and try the live video feed but since I don’t know if I will just be sitting here all on my own I don’t want to start off to big.
I know there are other ways of doing this than on facebook but I’ll start there and see where this leads. If there are a big interest for this I’m definatley open to doing this in other social media. But let’s start here and see where it all lands.
So help me spread the word about this and please join in if you can. I would hate to sit there all alone…
Why do I do this?
- Because I love to talk King and I’d love to hear from all of you and what you have to say about King and Lilja’s Library. The site has been online for 20 years so I guess it’s about time right?

- Anything you want. If I can I will answer but please know that I don’t have the answer to everything :-)
Do we have to ask stuff or can we just chat?
- You can ask questions, chat, comment, post photos and do pretty much anything except disrespect anyone. I want us to play this nice.

Here are two interviews with King. The first one is fom Radio Times.
“Well,” he laughs, “I’m between [writing projects] now. I’m collaborating on a book with my son Owen,” he says of the younger of his sons (the other, who uses the pen name Joe Hill, is also an author; King and his wife of 45 years, Tabitha, another writer, also have a daughter, Naomi, a church minister). “The book goes back and forth. We’re almost done with it, and I’m not sure what I’m going to do next.
The second one is from The Telegraph.
“You know,” begins the engagingly enthusiastic author, “they say there was a time in the 19th century when 200 people drowned in Baltimore because they crowded a pier, and the pier collapsed. They were waiting for the ship that had the last instalment of one of Dickens’s novels. Now that’s dedication!” he hoots. “You see the same sort of excitement when Breaking Bad or The Sopranos ends. To viewers those people [in the shows] are their friends.”
I promised you that 2016 would be a great year in celebration of the fact that Lilja’s Library has been alive for 20 years. Well, here is a contest that I think is very worthy that celebration.
What you can win here is nothing less than three (3) hardbacks (divided between three winners) of Joe Hill’s The Fireman but that’s not all. Joe will personalize and sign the books for the three winners. How about that?
In order to have a chance to win one of these three books you need to answer these questions and you need to do it before May 10. This contest is open to anyone anywhere but you can only enter once.
Today 11.22.63 premiers in the UK and other countries will follow close after. To get in the right mood, check out my interviews with the cast, show runner and Props Master for the show.

Here are some interesting news about the status of new King books...
In an interview appearing in the Radio Times in the UK this week, King says that he is between books at the moment, but is in the final stages of collaborating on a book with his son Owen.
King will be joined by George RR Martin at Albuquerque End of Watch tour. King will be interviewed by Martin. Here is the press release.
Stephen King to Appear with George RR Martin at Albuquerque End of Watch Tour
ALBUQUERQUE—Longtime Albuquerque indie bookstore, Bookworks, hosts Stephen King June 16 at the Kiva Auditorium at the Albuquerque Convention Center, one of twelve stops on a national tour promoting his new novel, End of Watch. What was already an unbelievable event opportunity has become even more notable, with a very special guest announced as part of the billing.
George RR Martin, Game of Thrones creator, beloved New Mexico author, and patron of the arts, will join King on stage at the Kiva Auditorium, for conversation and an element of literary fantasy that fans of the esteemed authors will find hard to resist.
“We were talking one day at the store about the event, daydreaming about how we would ever be able to score an event more epic than Stephen King. ‘But what if we got George RR Martin to interview Stephen King,’” recalls Bookworks event coordinator Amanda Sutton. Martin has been a friend of indie booksellers in New Mexico and has taken part in several events with the store, including a sold-out in-conversation event with Diana Gabaldon in 2013. Martin also frequently hosts renowned authors at his Jean Cocteau Cinema in Santa Fe.
During a conference call with King’s assistant and publicist at Scribner, the Bookworks team mentioned the idea to have the two authors appear together.
The pieces fell into place when Martin contacted his agent, Chris Lotts, also Stephen King’s agent, expressing interest in hosting King at the Cocteau. No new events were able to be added to the tour, but Martin was invited and graciously agreed to join the bill for the Albuquerque event. He will be in conversation with Stephen King’s son, author Joe Hill, in May 23 at the Cocteau upon release of his book The Fireman. On June 16, Martin will appear with King at the Kiva Auditorium. Both authors are delighted to share the stage.
The authors will sign books prior to the event. Every attendee will receive an End of Watch hardcover with ticket purchase, with 400 signed copies to be distributed at random. End of Watch is the third book in the Bill Hodges trilogy, which began with Mr. Mercedes, an Edgar Award winner, followed by Finders Keepers. All the books in the trilogy, along with many of Mr. King’s titles, will be available at the event, as will signed books from Mr. Martin.
Tickets for Stephen King in Conversation with George RR Martin are available online at bkwrks.com/stephen-king, by phone at 505-344-8139, or in person at Bookworks, at 4022 Rio Grande Blvd NW, Albuquerque.
Hearts in Suspension is NOT the title of a new King book. And it's NOT an April Fool's Day Joke. The moderator of King's board cleared it up by giving this answer to what it is:
It's a non-fiction book with essays by Stephen and others about his time as a student at the University of Maine. It's tentatively set for release in October but that's subject to change.
Lawrence Block confirms that King will have his new story The Music Room in his anthology In Sunlight or In Shadow: Stories Inspired by the Paintings of Edward Hopper that will be released in hardcover December 6. You can pre-order it now!
"Edward Hopper is surely the greatest American narrative painter. His work bears special resonance for writers and readers, and yet his paintings never tell a story so much as they invite viewers to find for themselves the untold stories within."
So says Lawrence Block, who has invited seventeen outstanding writers to join him in an unprecedented anthology of brand-new stories: In Sunlight or In Shadow. The results are remarkable and range across all genres, wedding literary excellence to storytelling savvy.
Contributors include Stephen King, Joyce Carol Oates, Robert Olen Butler, Michael Connelly, Megan Abbott, Craig Ferguson, Nicholas Christopher, Jill D. Block, Joe R. Lansdale, Spider Robinson, Kristine Kathryn Rusch, Warren Moore, Jonathan Santlofer, Jeffery Deaver, Lee Child, and Lawrence Block himself. Even Gail Levin, Hopper’s biographer and compiler of his catalogue raisonée, appears with her own first work of fiction, providing a true account of art theft on a grand scale and told in the voice of the country preacher who perpetrated the crime.
In a beautifully produced anthology as befits such a collection of acclaimed authors, each story is illustrated with a quality full-color reproduction of the painting that inspired it. Illustrated with 17 full color plates, one for each chapter.
This weekend has been one of questionable news. Two new pieces has been turning up but since April 1st was the day I heard about this I’m not sure if these are correct news or if it’s just April Fools Jokes. So, take these for rumors/April Fools Jokes for now and I’ll keep digging for information. And the second I get more info about this I’ll let you know, OK? Here we go.
News #1:
On the site Carnel House this was reported.
--
Not a Joke, Not a Drill! Dept. Well, it's not the new book news we've been waiting for, but it's the next best thing. Lawrence Block, brilliant mystery & crime novelist (whose first book featuring Matthew Scudder appeared as a limited edition featuring a foreword by Stephen King) has edited a curious and exciting new book featuring stories inspired by the work of American emotional realist painter Edward Hopper. The roster of authors is fantastic - everyone from Joe R. Lansdale to Joyce Carol Oates to Block himself - but of interest here is what appears to be a brand-new story by Stephen King. No news on the story yet, but using deductive reasoning (as these are stories written to a theme), it doesn't seem premature to believe this is all new work. The book, In Sunlight or In Shadow: Stories Inspired by the Paintings of Edward Hopper is out in hardcover December 6, and you can order it now!
--
Not sure if this is correct info but the book is listed on Amazon so the book is probably for real. And it probably have a story by King in it. If it’s a new one…that we don’t know just yet.
News#2:
King posted this photo on facebook and twitter and then posted the following:
Now, this could be King joking or it could really be that there will be a book called Hearts in Suspension coming this fall. And if there is, is it a sequel to Hearts in Atlantis? Or are the similar titles just a coincident?
I hope to have more info on these two news items soon!
Reports online say that Akiva Goldsman has been tasked with adapting Doctor Sleep for the big screen for Warner Bros. Pictures, with producers Jon Berg and Jon Gonda overseeing the project too. Currently, there is no director attached to the project, nor does Warner have a firm release date target in mind for the movie.
Here is my review of the 7th episode of 11.22.63.
The buildup to the end is working well. Now we just have to see how it all ends and if Jake decides to go back to the future or stay in the past with Sadie.
DUHD reports that the Creepshow documentary Just Desserts soon will be released in the US.
Creepshow documentary Just Desserts has been available in the UK for quite sometime now, but fans in the United States still have not had the documentary made available to them, until now. Synapse Films will be releasing the documentary on Blu-Ray in the United States very soon.
ihorror reports: “In an e-mail sent out this week, Felsher revealed that the Creepshow documentary is headed to Blu-ray courtesy of Synapse, and though he didn’t mention a date, he did note that brand new special features will be included. He also provided us with our first look at the release art.”
“There is going to be a formal announcement from the distributor of JUST DESSERTS coming very soon,” Felsher wrote. “However to try to make up for not being as pro-active with these updates as I should have been, I will give everyone here a sneak peak at the cover art, designed by Artist Joel Robinson. Also I can reveal that the distributor will be none other than Synapse Films. Please don’t deluge them with a lot of questions at this point though. They will be releasing a press release soon enough with additional information that should answer a lot of questions.”

Josh Boone talks about Revival in an new interview.
In the meantime, Boone has another King-based project that’s being fast-tracked to the screen: Revival. He enthused, “[T]hat one is ready to go. My line producer, production designer, and VFX supervisor from Fault budgeted the film. Michael De Luca is producing, which is amazing. He produced The Social Network, Moneyball, and Captain Phillips; but he also wrote John Carpenter’s In the Mouth of Madness, so he’s a secret horror nerd like us. Unlike these studio projects we’re working [on]–The Stand, Vampire Chronicles, New Mutants–where there are so many voices chiming in, we’ve been able to develop Revival in a very pleasant bubble. I wrote it on spec, and we are putting together the financing now. Very exciting. I think it’s one of King’s very best books.”
Josh Boone talks about The Stand in an new interview.
Now, as for The Stand, which has been in the works for quite some time, Boone explained, “We’re working on it. The reason The Stand hasn’t been made yet is because it’s expensive. It’s a problem of perception, I think. We really are attempting to revive the idea of the elevated horror film–movies like The Exorcist, Rosemary’s Baby, The Shining–A-list films with A-list casts. The 1980s really killed this idea because studios realized you could make horror films for dirt cheap and make a killing. In theory, every studio wants to make The Stand. It’s a bona fide American classic. It should be an event movie. A big, serious-minded epic with an awe-inspiring cast that is as faithful as possible to King’s narrative and intentions. This should be The Godfather of post-apocalyptic epics. I adapted the book and have King’s blessing. We got that awe-inspiring cast. But [Warner Bros.] didn’t want to spend what it would actually cost to make the movie. To have a real conversation about making this film at a level that is appropriate for the book King wrote is an 85- to-100-million-dollar conversation, which from where I’m sitting sounds like a no-brainer considering the mind-numbing nonsense that studios spend $250 million on. Which brings me back to that perception problem. They look at The Stand and wonder why they can’t make this post-apocalyptic horror movie for $35 million. King and I were most excited and continue to be most excited about a single three-hour event movie: The Godfather of post-apocalyptic movies.”
Does he have any studios in mind? “My hope is that we’ll go make that movie with Lionsgate,” Boone said. “My adaptation is incredibly faithful to King’s book, but the way I was able to contain all of it in a single three-hour film is: I shattered King’s structure and told the story non-linear. That was really what broke everything open for me. The opening scene is Mother Abigail on her deathbed sending our heroes off to make their stand against the Dark Man in Vegas, and then we jump back in time and you basically have three spinning timelines going the whole movie–Captain Trips, Boulder, and The Stand, same as the book, but they are all happening simultaneously. Sequences that fall hundreds of pages apart in the book stand side-by-side in the film, echoing and resonating in new and strange ways. I remain incredibly excited about that script. I can’t wait to make it. The Stand is the movie of a lifetime so I’m completely content waiting until someone gives us exactly what we need to do it right rather than to compromise.”
The cell rings twice, and then his old partner in his ear… ‘I’m at the scene of what appears to be a murder-suicide. I’d like you to come and take a look. Bring your sidekick with you, if she’s available…’
Retired Detective Bill Hodges now runs a two-person firm called Finders Keepers with his partner Holly Gibney. They met in the wake of the ‘Mercedes Massacre’ when a queue of people were run down by the diabolical killer Brady Hartsfield.
Brady is now confined to Room 217 of the Lakes Region Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic, in an unresponsive state. But all is not what it seems: the evidence suggests that Brady is somehow awake, and in possession of deadly new powers that allow him to wreak unimaginable havoc without ever leaving his hospital room.
When Bill and Holly are called to a suicide scene with ties to the Mercedes Massacre, they find themselves pulled into their most dangerous case yet, one that will put their lives at risk, as well as those of Bill’s heroic young friend Jerome Robinson and his teenage sister, Barbara. Brady Hartsfield is back, and planning revenge not just on Hodges and his friends, but on an entire city.
The clock is ticking in unexpected ways …
Both a stand-alone novel of heart-pounding suspense and a sublimely terrifying final episode in the Hodges trilogy, End of Watch takes the series into a powerful new dimension.
Dreadcentral reorts about a new Children of the Corn movie.
Children of the Corn: Runaway is currently being shot in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, with John Gulager (Feast) directing a script penned by Joel Soisson (Children of the Corn: Genesis). Filming is reportedly going to wrap on April 2nd.
The franchise’s tenth installment follows a young pregnant woman who escapes a murderous child cult in a small Midwestern town. She then spends the next decade living anonymously in an attempt to spare her son the horrors that she experienced as a child. She lands in the small Oklahoma town…but something is following her. Now, she must confront this evil or lose her child.
Tying the new film into the 2009 Children of the Corn remake, the main character is Malachai’s girlfriend, Ruth.
If you haven't seen the first films this is what you should look for.
Children of the Corn (1984)
Children of the Corn II: The Final Sacrifice (1993)
Children of the Corn III: Urban Harvest (1995)
Children of the Corn IV: The Gathering (1996)
Children of the Corn V: Fields of Terror (1998)
Children of the Corn 666: Isaac's Return (1999)
Children of the Corn: Revelation (2001)
Children of the Corn: Genesis (2011)
Today the paperback edition of Finders Keepers is out in the UK and US. I know that the UK edition has an excerpt from End of Watch but haven't been able to confirm if the US edition has one as well. Maybe someone who buy the book can let me know? Here are the covers.
Here is my review of the 6th episode of 11.22.63.
