More about what Discordia is:
Discordia: A Dark Tower Online Experience
Discordia is an internet-based Dark Tower experience that has been in development since early 2007. The project started as a small add-on concept for the then new Dark Tower Official Web Site. Over time, Discordia evolved into a progressive storytelling platform that leverages cutting-edge technologies to chronicle the war between Tet Corporation and Sombra/NCP.
Exploring the behind-the-scenes conflict between the two companies, Discordia introduces long-time Dark Tower fans to new characters and numerous mechanical/magical items developed by Mid-World's Old Ones. Over the course of our adventure we will visit numerous locations, both those familiar to Dark Tower fans and others which we only glimpsed in the Dark Tower novels. While we may not see Roland and his ka-tet in this adventure, the development team has remembered the faces of its fathers. We have done our best to honor the original Dark Tower series while simultaneously mapping new and exciting Dark Tower territory.
Discordia uses Flash and Flash video to immerse the user in detailed 3D artwork and video that has been meticulously created based on literal dissections of the Dark Tower books. With retrospective text by Robin Furth, highly detailed magical items and environments by Brian Stark and truly exquisite original paintings by Michael Whelan, Discordia is a revolutionary experience that should please any Dark Tower fan.
My book was planned for a November release but will be pushed forward to early 2010. The reason for this is that we sent out review copies to people hoping for quotes to use on the book and getting responses on that has been taking much longer than we expected. However both CD and I felt that it was worth waiting for even if it means the book will be delayed a few months.
With that said I'm also happy to chare this review of the book with you.
Larry Fire over at The Fire Wire reports that King’s new short story, Premium Harmony, from the New Yorker magazine now can be read online. It's about a fight between a husband and wife while they are driving to a convenience store and you can read it here.
This list of promotional event was posted on King's site today:
Entertainment Weekly will be publishing an excerpt of Under the Dome in their print magazine currently scheduled to be on stands on October 30th. The excerpt is not expected to be available on-line.
On Thursday, October 29th, the Under the Dome book trailer will premiere exclusively on EW.com and EW's Shelf Life Blog for one day only.
On Friday, October 30th, EW.com and EW's Shelf Life Blog will launch a short video of Stephen reading the first few pages of Under the Dome. This is also a one-day exclusive.
This unexpected news popued up today on King's official board:
The New Yorker issue of November 9th, appearing on newsstands November 2nd, will feature a new short story by Stephen, "Premium Harmony," set in Castle Rock.
This was in USA Today : I am actually curious as to the status of Damon's involvement with the Dark Tower series. Is there hope for us Stephen King fans that this project is in the works? -- Lorrie Q.
You'll be hard-pressed to find a huger fan of The Dark Tower than me, but that's probably the reason that I shouldn't be the one to adapt it. After working six years on Lost, the last thing I want to do is spend the next seven years adapting one of my favorite books of all time. I'm such a massive Stephen King fan that I'm terrified of screwing it up.
I'd do anything to see those movies written by someone else. My guess is they will get made because they're so incredible. But not by me.
Ghost Brothers of Darkland County seems to be alive and kicking. This was posted on King's official board today:
It hasn't been dropped, although it won't come out as a stage production--at least not at first. In fact, I think it may be in the post-production stage at the moment. A web site is being developed for the project and as soon as I have any information about it going live, I will pass that along.
Here is the exclusive interview with King about Under the Dome that was mentioned in a mail from King's official site about a week ago.
It's only supposed to be on the PopEater site today (Oct. 27th) but if you missed it it should be on King's official site from Oct. 28th.
It the video interview we also get a first look at the illustrations of the characters in the book that will be included in the limited edition. It's not easy to see details but it gives you a hint of how they will look.
King will be part of yet another comic. This time it's the story about the vampire Skinner. This will be an original story by King. Read more on King's official site or at Newsarama.
It's close to Halloween so surely time for a Stephen King tie-in on the App Store?
Indeed, Paramount has dug up an old film licence, providing us with a Pet Sematary game.
As tends to happen when multi-faceted novels are converted into other media, it's become a top-down shooter, in which you have to rapidly tap on resurrected pets and small boys to shoot them, while saving the adults who charge around the levels seeking safety.
To be honest, it's doesn't seem to be very sophisticated - but perhaps as an impulse 99c purchase, there's nothing wrong with that.
Each level lasts a swift minute long and you can acquire power-ups along the way to boost your points score, which is shared via online high scores and Facebook.
Pet Sematary is available now, priced 99c, €0.79 or 59p. Hit the Buy It! button to see how deep you have to dig.
This was posted on King's official site after it was reported that the eBook of Under the Dome would cost $35.
Dear Constant Readers,
Please don’t believe the press reports that the e-book reader price for Under the Dome will be $35. This was the result of confusion from a press release from the publisher, what Big Jim Rennie would call a clustermug. It is true that you cannot order the book as an e-download until December 24th but the physical book, which is a beautiful thing, you can pre-order for less than $9—so who’s better than us?
I have told you about them before but now I have had the chance to see them with my own eyes and they are really cool. What am I talking about? Well, you have a little hint in the photo to the right but if you want to know more, read this
On October 21st at 3pm EST, a new feature will be added to the Under the Dome Widget. The widget will feature a link to an interactive book cover, allowing you to explore the book a little more in depth prior to its release.
---UPDATE---
The interactive cover is now online. Check it out here.
On Tuesday, October 27th, the AOL.com homepage and AOL’s PopEater entertainment site will feature an interview in which Stephen speaks about Under the Dome.
This is a one-day exclusive but if you miss it on October 27th, the interview will also run on selected sites including StephenKing.com beginning on the 28th.
Here is a very interesting article about Russ Dorr, a man who’s helped King with getting the fact straight in more than one book. Beware though that there are some small spoilers for Under the Dome in the article.
Later this week issue #0 of The Talisman comic is released and as most of you probably already know Robin Furth has a pretty big part in it. I got a chance to talk to her about it and here is what she had to say.
Now we know what Ka is a Wheel is…sort of. It looks like it’s a game based on The Dark Tower but it could be something else as well... It does however looks like we'll know more on November 30. Check out a trailer here
There have been talks about a limited edition of Under the Dome from Hodder & Stoughton for a while now but now things are finally starting to happen.
At Waterstone's they are now taking orders for an edition that costs £100 and my guess is that this is that limited that there has been talks about.
I'm looking for more info as we speaks but if you want to order your copy now you can do that here but please not that there hasn't been any confirmation yet that this IS the limited one.

The second text part hidden here at Lilja's Library:

'She went for Woops,' Aidan said. He looked like a little old man - a little old worried man. 'I'd be ascairt to go Halloweenin without Mommy.' 'Come on, Caro,' the man said. 'We ought to-' Rusty rose from the bench. 'Could I speak to you for a minute, ma'am? Just a step or two over here.' Caro looked puzzled

Well, if you have seen the pictures of this book on my site you know it’s a massive book, it’s actually one of the biggest books I have seen, and then I haven’t even seen it in real life yet… I have however gotten a little taste of it and what I have seen really makes me want to get a copy of the book. As luck has it I will get a copy of this giant so count on a review once I do.
Until then, check out these new pages from the book. The book is filled with stuff like this. Some of the illustrations I recognize and some I have never seen before but they all have one thing in common, they are all very interesting and my guess is that you’ll spend the first read just watching the illustrations...and then the at the second read actually read the text about the illustrators and their work...
