Here are more information about the Dollar Baby based on The Boogeyman:

Year: 2006 Dinocca production

Cast:

Lenght: 15 min.

This movie is a mix between the first Boogeyman by Jeff C Shiro and the short story. It was shoot in France.

The story take place first in a police interrogatory,in the Dr Harper's office and...in the cupboard.

Amazon.com announced that it has hired comedian Bill Maher to host a weekly online talk show that will be available for viewing on its website. The first episode runs in June, and among the guests will be novelist Stephen King. More info to come...

There are reports that besides Wal-Mart, Target and Chapters Book Stores also jumped the gun and has been selling copies of Cell since Saturday the 21.

Willa, Florida book and another hard boiled detective story

OK, here is more info about new stuff from King that was revealed yesterday at the event at Eckerd College:

The story King read is called Willa and is about 7500 words according to King. Without giving too much away, it is the story of a man's search for his wife after they get off a train. King said that he wrote the story based on the final image he would read in the story, and then worked from there. Much more then that can't be told without giving it all away, but there are some very vivid and well-defined characters, and the story has a great mood and very poetic tone to it. No word on when it'll be released yet though...

King also told the audience that he's contemplating a Florida book soon, he has an idea for it, but he explained that he and his wife had been spending a lot of time here and he wanted to develop a "texture" for the landscape before writing.

Here is a quote from the St Pete Times article about the event:

"Stephen King, who has been a part-time resident of Sarasota for several years, told a packed auditorium at Eckerd College that he is nearly ready to set a novel in his adopted state. 'You have to get a little bit of texture for a place, ' King said, 'We've been down herenow spending about half the year since 1998. I think I have an idea for a book'"

King also mentioned that he had another hard boiled detective story in the works.

It seems that Wal-Mart has jumped the gun on selling Cell. I get reports that there where copies for sale on Saturday the 21. So, go hunt!

Willa, a new story

Yesterday King appeared on the An Evening With Stephen King! King read a brand new short story to test it on the crowd, the story was called Willa and King said it was about 7500 words.

Dennis Lehane introduced King and then fielded questions pre-filled out by the crowd for Stephen King. It went from 8pm to about 9:30pm, for a very receptive crowd... people of ALL ages. King made a brief comment about the crowd being asked to turn off their cell phones and launched into a very funny and thorough story about how he came up with the idea for the novel and promoted it's release several times throughout the night.

According to King's official site: 'Entertainment Weekly will be running the first two chapters of Cell in their issue on stands January 20, 2006, as a first serial excerpt. This is the first time in the history of the magazine that they have run a fiction excerpt.'

The Mist script finished?

The Mist script is finished, apparently. It has been widely reported that Frank Darabont was working on an adaptation of The Mist and it looks like the draft is actually done. In a report about the forthcoming “Indiana Jones” sequel, Ain't It Cool's Harry Knowles let slip that he read the script and it was “amazing,”.

This time it's copies of Cell that's at stake. 10 copies of the audio CD and 5 copies of the hardback to be more exactA new question will be posted each day between January 19 and January 23 and I will draw 3 winners each day. I got an email from Rocky Wood today and it seams that the Australian paper that ran the first part of Sword in the Darkness made a mistake. Rocky gives this explanation:

The first part of 'Sword in the Darkness' which was online this past Saturday appeared in error and has now been removed from the newspaper's website. The second part of the excerpt from the upcoming book, 'Stephen King: Uncollected, Unpublished' will appear only in the hard copy newspaper and not online.'

Stephen King podcast

On February 9th Simon & Schuster Audio will launch an exclusive Stephen King podcast on their site. It will contain a 20-minute interview with King himself, and an excerpt from the Cell audio book. The interview with King that was recorded on December 5 so it's a new and fresh one you don't want to miss.

Both the book and audio is released on January 24th and at the back of the book you can find an excerpt from King's next book Lisey's Story that is due out in October.

Cell will be released in France with the title Cellulaire in March and Robin Furth's The Dark Tower Concordance volume 2 will be released on March the 17th with the title La Tour Sombre - Concordance volume 2.
