More From Ewan McGregor About Doctor Sleep

More from Ewan McGregor about Doctor Sleep:

"Stephen King notoriously didn't like 'The Shining.' He didn't like the fact that they didn't end the movie the way he ended his novel. I think he felt it wasn't a faithful adaptation," McGregor says. "Our script is very faithful to his novel. But for one thing. And I'm not going to give anything away."

My Thoughts On Episode 4 Of Castle Rock

Posted: August 2, 2018, 03:00
_
Here are my thoughts (contains spoilers) of episode 4 of Castle Rock.

The show is really good. I think they move in a pace that works very well. You get to know the characters but they still surprise you like in the end of the episode. I, for sure, didn’t see that coming.

Zahn McClarnon In Talks To Play Crow Daddy

More Doctor Sleep news. Variety reports that Zahn McClarnon is in talks to play Crow Daddy.

Zahn McClarnon is in talks to join Ewan McGregor and Rebecca Ferguson in Warner Bros.’ adaptation of the Stephen King novel “Doctor Sleep,” the sequel to the horror classic “The Shining.”

McGregor stars as the adult version of Danny Torrance, while Ferguson plays Rose the Hat. Sources say McClarnon would portray Crow Daddy, the right-hand man of Ferguson’s character.

Dick Halloran & Wendy Torrance Cast (Doctor Sleep)

Posted: August 1, 2018, 22:22

Deadline reports that casting has been done for the roles of Dick Halloran and Wendy Torrance in the upcoming Doctor Sleep.

Warner Bros is setting Carl Lumbly to play Dick Halloran and Alex Essoe to play Wendy Torrance in Doctor Sleep, the continuation of the storyline from The Shining. Those are the roles that Scatman Crothers and Shelley Duvall played in the Stanley Kubrick-directed original, if you are keeping score at home.

Book About The Stand

Here is a new interesting book from Cemetery Dance: This Dark Chest of Wonders: 40 Years of Stephen King's The Stand. Order your copy here.

About the Book:
In September 1978, Stephen King published The Stand, a massive, post-apocalyptic story that captured the imagination of his growing legion of Constant Readers, introducing them to his ultimate villain, Randall Flagg. Over the course of time, the tale of good and evil only gained in popularity, leading to the 1990 publication of The Stand: Complete and Uncut, which gave audiences the author's original vision for his novel.

In This Dark Chest of Wonders: 40 Years of Stephen King's The Stand, Andy Burns (Wrapped In Plastic: Twin Peaks, BiffBamPop.com) tells the story behind the story of King's enduring opus and delves deep into its various incarnations — the unfilmed George A. Romero adaptation; the 1994 ABC mini-series; the audiobook; and Marvel Comics' adaptation.

Included are exclusive interviews with Stephen King experts Bev Vincent, Robin Furth, Mick Garris, Jamey Sheridan, WG Snuffy Walden, Grover Gardner, Ralph Macchio, Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and Mike Perkins.

This Dark Chest of Wonders: 40 Years of The Stand delivers a complete and uncut look into one of Stephen King's most enduring achievements.

What Stephen King Movies Are Really Coming?

Posted: July 30, 2018, 00:11

Quite often an article appears that claims to list all upcoming Stephen King adaptations. Good right? Well, maybe not. What these articles do is list every King story that’s been reported to have been sold and that is not the same as that we’re actually getting a movie version. The Talisman was sold before the book was released back in 1984 and we still haven’t seen a movie version. So, I thought I’d help you get a grip on what movies we are sure (or as sure we can be, after all the world could end tomorrow) that we’ll be seeing. So, here we go.

My Interview with Michael Martin

Posted: July 27, 2018, 11:19

Michael Martin is the propmaster on the show Castle Rock and is responsible for all the things you see in the show. I thought it would be interesting to hear more about this and got a chance to talk to Michael about it. Here is what he said…

It’s more important have a good sense of how things should look before you try to create new things. A prop needs to be recognizable first and then it can be interesting.

Season 2 Based Mainly On End Of Watch

Posted: July 20, 2018, 10:28

Syfy Wire reports from the Mr. Mercedes pannel at Comic Con.

And while trilogy is the key word here, the new season of the show will not be drawn from the second book in the series, Finders Keepers, but the third and final book, End of Watch.

The problem with using Finders Keepers, said executive producer/director Jack Bender, was that "our heroes didn’t come into it until halfway through the book." Even though the words "Finders Keepers" are included in the season, the main action is taken from the trilogy capper. Just prepare yourself for things to get a little stranger, “a little what the f*** are you talking about?" Bender said.

IT: Chapter 2 At Comic Con

Posted: July 19, 2018, 20:42
_
Movieweb had the following to report about IT: Chapter 2 presence at Comic Con.

IT 2 only recently started shooting, so there wasn't a completed trailer yet. But Pennywise did manage to make his way onto the big screen in front of a crowd of screaming fans. This first footage probably won't show up online unless someone bootlegs it. The scene in question introduces Bill Hader as the grown up Richie and James Ransone as the much older Eddie.

Before showing off the footage at Comic-Con, director Andy Muschietti talked a bit about his sequel, and called this a much scarier movie. Muschettie is returning to direct IT 2, which catches up with the Losers' Club as adults in 2019. Everyone is 30 years older, and still quite scared of that old dancing clown Pennywise. They survived their first encounter with the demon back in the 1980s, but they may not have the same kind of luck this time around.

Creepshow As An Anthology Series

Posted: July 18, 2018, 22:56
_
Bloody Disgusting reports that Creepshow will be an anthology series on Shudder. It dosn't say if it will be using stories by King or just the name though...

EW reports that Shudder is bringing back Creepshow, only not as a film franchise. Next year, the streaming service will launch “Creepshow” as an anthology series, with makeup master Greg Nicotero (“The Walking Dead”) directing the premiere!

Nicotero will also executive-produce and supervise the show’s creative elements. His KNB EFX Group will handle the show’s creature and makeup effects.

The series is scheduled to debut on Shudder in 2019. Each episode will tell original stories and be helmed by a different filmmaker.
