They have given us permission to post their taping of the event here on Steve's site which we will do as soon as we receive the file. Dr. Sleep's plot includes a traveling group of vampires called The Tribe which is part of the passage he read from.

I don't know about you but I'll be checking this out!
I got this very interesting news from The Mason Award Event that took place last night. It appears King is almost finished writing a sequel to The Shining, Dr. Sleep. It will be about Danny Torrence as an adult and some sort of vampire like people called "The Tribe" that drive around in mobile homes and feed on psychic energy.
King read a chapter from it at the event and the nice part of it is that there is a clip of it on YouTube!
King also signed books after the event for almost 3 hours. He signed any book that people brought but only 1 book each.
The moderator of King's official board shared this wounderful news today:
The release date for The Wind Through the Keyhole has been bumped ahead and is now anticipated to be released on March 12, 2012.
King will be presenting his latest novel, 11/22/63 on Nov. 12 in the fine arts center at the Academy of the Sacred Heart. Tickets are $35 and include a copy of the novel, and Octavia suggests you don’t wait around. Read more here

"To officially welcome customers to Gauntlet's Facebook page we're having a sweepstakes to give away three copies of J. N. WILLIAMSON's ILLUSTRATED MASQUES. The first prize winner gets a signed numbered edition of the book (selling for $125 -- signed by all but King and Clive Barker) . As most of you know by now I really love The Walking Dead and look forward to the new season next month. So, when I found this new trailer I couldn't resist sharingit with you all.
Reviews of King's upcoming 11/22/63 are starting to pop up here and there on the net but I have to admit that I haven't read one of them from start to finish. The ones that I have found reveal way too much for my taste so be ware if you find one, there are spoilers. And why post reviews so early? The book is still 1½ month away...
I have been getting notes from people in other parts (than Sweden where I live) saying that their counter isn’t at zero like mine and after some research it looks like the person who did this countdown did it so that when the local time (from where you’re watching the site) turns into midnight the counter reaches 0:0:0:0. So, if that is the case we’ll just have to see when something happens…
I just got word from the people behind Haven who assured me that the article about the series risk being canceled is totally wrong and written by a not very well informed reporter.
Could Haven be in danger of being canceled? An uncertain future for the SyFy drama follows the Canadian drama channel canceling "Almost Heroes," and reordering "Lost Girl" and "King."
TORONTO -- The SyFy drama Haven from Entertainment One and Big Motion Pictures is on the bubble with Showcase channel in Canada.
Showcase programmers are to decide in two weeks on the future of the foreign-spawned drama, which is based on Stephen King's novella 'Colorado Kid' and shoots in Canada.
Haven left in limbo comes as Showcase canceled Almost Heroes, a sitcom about two brothers that starred Ryan Belleville and Paul Campbell.
The Canadian channel has ordered new seasons of Syfy’s Lost Girl from Prodigy Pictures and King, a female cop drama from Indian Grove Productions.
I'm trying to find out more as we speak... Thanks to Herbert West
On October 3rd TCM is running A Night at the Movies: Horror with Stephen King.
Stephen King discusses how he discovered terror at the movie theater. He takes viewers on a journey through many aspects of the horror genre, including vampires, zombies, demons and ghosts. He also examines the fundamental reasons behind moviegoers' incessant craving for being frightened. Along the way, he discusses the movies that have had a real impact on his writing, including Freaks (1932), Cat People (1942), Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), Night of the Living Dead (1968) and The Changeling (1980).
Dear Me. A letter to my sixteen-year-old-self is a collection of letters written by famous people (King, Hugh Jackman, Alan Rickman, James Woods and many more). It's a book that collects letters written by these people, imaginary sent to themselves when they were only sixteen. The book is edited by Joseph Galliano and has a foreword by J.K.Rowling. It'll be published october 25th by Atria Books.
Here are some cool images from season 2 of The Walking Dead.
And here is a new clip from the new DVD/blu-ray edition of season 1.
We have also gotten word that Greg Nicotero (who took home an Emmy for his prosthetic makeup) has been named co-executive producer of The Walking Dead and that he's also directing an episode during Season 2.
Talk Stephen King found this interesting news. Personally I have been waiting for this version many years. Hopefully it will be out on DVD and blu-ray as well.
Rochester New York's Dryden Theater is showing Kubrick's The Shining -- like you've never seen it before. This version includes "coda cut from the original release."
Drew Grant at the New York Observer notes that Stanley Kubrick was a perfectionist. "The Shining is actually in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most number of takes of a single scene. With that type of fascist filmmaking, you know that anything left on the cutting room floor of the 1980 Stephen King film was cut for a reason."
Grant directs readers to IMDB contributors express excitement at the new footage, saying ". . . it'll be the first time the footage has been seen since the original theatrical showing and before Kubrick had it removed." But they also spot a problem, "The only discrepancy here seems to be the running time they list. 142 minutes. That's the running time for the normal longer version. The Version including the Coda should be 146 minutes."
It's very popular to do action figures of characters in TV series and movies. The Walking Dead is no exception. In November four characters from the TV series will be released as action figures. The four are Deputy Rick Grimes, Daryl Dixon, Zombie Walker and Zombie Biter and you can read all about them here.
What do you think about action figures like these? Personally I think they are pretty cool. Not that I think many will buy them to play with but I bet they'll look pretty cool in the book case where you keep your movie collection, don't you think?
