The Dark Tower Poster In The Wild

Thanks to Bryant Burnette we can now see The Dark Tower movie poster hanging at an actual movie theatre. How cool is that. This is finally happening!


It also confirms that the first one we saw was cut at the bottom. Here we can clearly see that Roland and Jake are in fact standing on something.


It also shows that the top of the first poster we saw was also cut. The difference here isn’t as big but it shows more of the ground.

More IT & No Filming Of Part 2 In March

Director Andy Muschietti showed the teaser as well as a clip from the film this weekend and we have already gotten a description of the teaser. Here is a description of the scene that was shown (source: Daily Dead).

We were also shown about five minutes of another scene that introduces Ben Hanscom while the Losers' Club begins to explore the sewers below Derry, as they suspect that’s where Pennywise calls home. It was a great way to see the relationships between the kids explored, and I loved how naturally they all responded to each other.

Muschietti also revealed that he wanted to keep Bill Skarsgard (who play Pennywise) away from the kids as much as possible.

He was with them for the read-through, but then that was it, and all the kids were like, “It’s okay, he’s not going to scare us,” but that first day he got onto the stage, they fucking freaked out. I can’t even describe how scary he looked in person.

There has been rumors about the second movie would start shooting in March but when asked about that Muschietti had the following to say:

"It's just a complete misinterpretation of the facts. It's not happening now. We're in the midst of post production.”

So, there you have it.

- The teaser will be scary as Hell.
- Bill looks great as Pennywise
- The second movie won’t start film in March.

“It’s Not A Monster…It’s Just A Doggy…”

Creepshow In The Walking Dead

Daily Dead reports that Creepshow will be doing a small cameo in The Walking Dead.

Greg Nicotero is no stranger to celebrating iconic horror movies on The Walking Dead through the many walkers that appear on the show, and to celebrate his upcoming 19th-directed episode of the AMC series, Nicotero unveiled a new photo that features an homage to 1982's Creepshow.

Nicotero shared the Creepshow-esque photo on his Instagram page, giving fans a sneak peek at a walker in a fairgrounds ticket booth that hearkens back to the poster for Creepshow, which featured a one-eyed corpse as a ticket-taker.

The Running Man That Almost Happened

Slasherfilm had a very interesting article about how The Running Man came about.

Before Paul Michael Glaser directed The Running Man, four other directors worked on the movie and here are info on the three alternate versions we almost saw.

“He had an interesting idea that the movie should be the actual broadcast, which would have had some narrative problems because how did [Ben Richards] get in trouble and stuff like that,” de Souza said. “He was making it very British. He said on an English crew, you have a tea lady who comes around with a cart of tea and biscuits. When the tea lady came through, the show stopped the crew stopped, the stalker stopped and the runners stopped and they all took a break, then started up again. It was kind of a Monty Python bridge too far. Before you could say, ‘What is the capital of Assyria?’ he was gone.”

Looks like we're going to learn more about how the movie version of Cujo was done.

For those who love the movie, author Lee Gambin is working on a book that follows the making of Cujo. Dubbed Nope, Nothing Wrong Here: The Making of Cujo, the author revealed the book artwork, which you can see below. No release date has yet been given, but we’ll keep our ears to the ground!

Limited Art Portfolio of The Eyes of the Dragon

Suntup Editions will release a signed limited edition art portfolio of The Eyes of the Dragon featuring twenty-four illustrations by artist David Palladini.

The portfolio is published in two editions, both of which are signed by David Palladini: a numbered edition of three hundred copies, measuring 10” x 151⁄2” and a lettered edition of twenty-six copies, measuring 12”x 18”. Both editions include twenty-two black & white illustrations and two color illustrations. An afterword written exclusively for this edition by David Palladini is letterpress printed and included in both editions.

Publication is scheduled for Summer 2017 and will be available for pre-order in March. Numbered edition publication price: $295. Lettered edition publication price: $795.

The book Stephen King and Richard Chizmar has written is called Gwendy’s Button Box and will be released by Cemetery Dance in May.

Here is a description of the plot. Something that exits me extra with this is the line: ”We ought to palaver, you and me“. We have heard that word Palaver before right…

The little town of Castle Rock, Maine has witnessed some very strange events and unusual visitors over the years, but there is one story that has never been told...until now.

There are three ways up to Castle View from the town of Castle Rock: Route 117, Pleasant Road, and the Suicide Stairs. Every day in the summer of 1974 twelve-year-old Gwendy Peterson has taken the stairs, which are held by strong (if time-rusted) iron bolts and zig-zag up the cliffside.

At the top of the stairs, Gwendy catches her breath and listens to the shouts of the kids on the playground. From a bit farther away comes the chink of an aluminum bat hitting a baseball as the Senior League kids practice for the Labor Day charity game.

One day, a stranger calls to Gwendy: "Hey, girl. Come on over here for a bit. We ought to palaver, you and me."

On a bench in the shade sits a man in black jeans, a black coat like for a suit, and a white shirt unbuttoned at the top. On his head is a small neat black hat. The time will come when Gwendy has nightmares about that hat...

“I had a story I couldn’t finish, and [Chizmar] showed me the way home with style and panache,” King said in a statement. “It was a good time, and I think readers will have a good time reading it. If they are left with questions, and maybe have a few arguments, all the better.”

Rich added…

“Steve sent me the first chunk of a short story,” Chizmar says. “I added quite a bit and sent it back to him. He did a pass, then bounced it back to me for another pass. Then, we did the same thing all over again – one more draft each. Next thing you know, we had a full-length novella on our hands. We took a free hand in rewriting each other and adding new ideas and characters. The whole process took about a month.”

Annette O’Toole Talks Stephen King’s IT

Here is an interview with Annette O’Toole who plays Bev in the IT miniseries.

I was just asked to do 11.22.63 out of the blue. I hadn’t read the book, but I got it right away, and then realized that my character is only a mention of a name in the book. So I didn’t really have anything to live up to for Mr. King this time, and just came up with who Edna was on my own. One of the producers told me on the set that I was an “Easter egg,” for the Stephen King fans. I thought that was hilarious and apt.
