Here is how Chloe Moretz describes the new version of Carrie:

“I am changing everything about me—my hair, my look,” Moretz tells Vanity Fair. “I’m doing my own take on [the character]. The script is totally different from the [original]. It’s more like the book. It’s a more Black Swan version—it messes with your mind. You’ll see things, and you don’t know if you’ve seen them.”

Chloe Moretz talked about theremake of Carrie recentley:

"We're kind of going off the book," the 15-year-old actress continued. "It's darker and much more psychological. More 'Black Swan'. You're really looking into her mind and it really looks into the relationship of Margaret and Carrie. It's set in modern time, so it's a lot different."

During the chat, the "Hugo" star also spilled the beans that she will undergo a very drastic physical transformation to portray Carrie White. "It's something that's very different from me," she confessed. "It's an out of body thing. I'm becoming a totally different person for it. I'm letting go of all of my self-esteem issues and just kind of going into it. You have to."

reports that Kimberly Peirce has been hired to direct a remake of Carrie.

Kimberly Peirce has been hired to direct a remake Stephen King‘s Carrie. Peirce made her name with the 1999 indie film Boys Don’t Cry which featured an Oscar-winning performance from Hilary Swank.

This summer, MGM and Screen Gems announced that they hired Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, a playwright who was recently brought onto the troubled Broadway production Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark, to pen the new script based on King’s first published work. Aguirre-Sacasa also writes comics for Marvel including their graphic representation of Stephen King’s The Stand, so he’s certainly familiar with King’s work. He worked on several seasons of HBO’s Big Love, but his will be his first screenplay. Deadline reports that Aguirre-Sacasa’s take is “more faithful to the King book, and more grounded than the Brian De Palma-directed film.” This story definitely seems more within Peirce’s best abilities.

Looks like there is some interest in the remake of Carrie after all. Dread Central had the following report:

According to MovieWeb a source close to the one-dimensional acting goddess that is Megan Fox claims that she is more than a little interested in playing the role.

"Megan is a huge fan of the original and would love the chance to play the lead. She's 25 now, but she's sure she could still do justice to teenage Carrie. She's told her people to make it happen."

King comments on the remake of Carrie

King has commented on the remake of Carrie and he is very clear as to who he wants to see as Carrie... The following is from Talk Stephen King:

EW has a great quote from King about news of the Carrie remake. Like all of us, I think he's left scratching his head as to why such a project is necessary. In fact, he says the movie was better than the book!

King says, “I’ve heard rumblings about a Carrie remake, as I have about The Stand and It. Who knows if it will happen? The real question is why, when the original was so good? I mean, not Casablanca, or anything, but a really good horror-suspense film, much better than the book. Piper Laurie really got her teeth into the bad-mom thing."

And then there's this wonderful gem: "Although Lindsay Lohan as Carrie White… hmmm. It would certainly be fun to cast.”
