King on Under the Dome

King sort of commented on the Under the Dome TV series during the Lee Child event and even though he didn't say it our flat I think this says it all...

I wrote a novel called ”Under the Dome”, not necessary to be confused with a TV show…

Under the Dome Ends With Season 3

Finally CBS is doing the right thing and letting the residents of Chester's Mill end their journey.

CBS is putting the residents of Chester’s Mill out of their misery.

The network has decided to end its summer thriller Under the Dome next month— which is still two years after the show was originally expected to conclude.

CBS has officially decided to not order a fourth season of the series, which is based on the Stephen King bestseller about a Maine town suddenly trapped under a mysterious force field.

Instead, the Sept. 10 finale will serve as a series ender.

“Two years ago, Under the Dome broke new ground in the summer and became an instant hit on CBS, as well as with viewers around the world,” said Nina Tassler, chairman, CBS Entertainment. “Dome’s event storytelling and multi-platform business model paved the way for more original summer programming with the successful rollouts of Extant and Zoo. We’re excited to present the final chapter in Chester’s Mill as the story comes full circle, with the Dome coming down as dramatically as it went up.”

Previously Tassler had teased that the dome was going to come down at the end of the season. The network also revealed the closer will chronicle “two groups of residents engage in one final conflict that some won’t survive” and that the dome’s “mysterious origins will be revealed.” We’re told there are no plans to shop Dome around to other potential networks or streaming companies.

Should The Dome Stay Up or Not?

I say let the Dome stay down and end this while someone is still watching. What do the rest of you think?

CBS Entertainment Chairman Nina Tassler told reporters at the Television Critics Association summer press tour on Monday that while no decision has been made about Season 4, they aren't ruling it out. "The dome is coming down at the end of this season, but that opens up a host of other storytelling opportunities," Tassler said.

The question came as Tassler was being asked about the overall performance of CBS's summer programming. While Tassler acknowledged it's been a tougher summer, she said she is happy with the network's summer strategy. "We went into summer to have more original programming on air," she said. "Zoo is the No. 1 scripted show, Dome is the No. 2 scripted show, and Extant is No. 4. ... The shows are still performing. ... [and] these stream well on Amazon."

Under the Dome Back For a 4th Season?

Looks like there will be a 4th season of Under the Dome but it won't be shot in Wilmington.

Citing sources and social media posts from crew members, Brothers says the CBS show will move to a new location, possibly Utah, for its fourth season. The summer series is wrapping its third season this week.

According to The Wilmywood Daily, word is there will be a sale of set pieces some time soon. Sets for “Under the Dome,” which is based on a Stephen King book, are currently the main feature for tours at EUE/Screen Gems on N. 23rd Street in Wilmington.

Here are some photos from episode 1 and 3 from season 3 of Under the Dome.

UNDER THE DOME, based on Stephen King’s bestselling novel, tells the story of a small town that is suddenly and inexplicably sealed off from the rest of the world by an enormous transparent dome. In the weeks following the Dome’s descent on the sleepy town of Chester’s Mill, the inhabitants have been forced to adapt. Combating Dome- and man-made threats daily, the community rises to new heights of ingenuity, courage and, for some, darkness, in order to survive their post-apocalyptic isolation. Just as the town’s quest for answers reveals a seemingly viable path to freedom, everything the residents think they know about the Dome and its motivations is turned upside down. Again facing an uncertain future, the citizens of Chester’s Mill begin to realize their true destiny as the Dome reveals more of its ultimate agenda for them. As new dangers emerge, battle lines are drawn that will alter relationships in ways none of them could imagine. For this town, the true threat to the human spirit’s resilience is no longer just the invisible dome that has cut them off from civilization – but it is the enemy within.

Begins its third season Thursday, June 25 on the CBS Television Network

No Word on Season 3 Yet!

Still no word on a third season. The second season of Under the Dome had concluded but CBS is still keeping quiet about the future of the hit sci-fi TV drama. Fans are left wondering about what is in store for the Chester's Mill residents after the end of the season. Will they find their way out of the dome? When season 2 was announced the producers made the renewal announcements before the first season ended last year. Yet they failed to do the same this time around.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you want a third season or have you had enough of Under the Dome as a TV show? Personally I feel done with it but I also feel sorry for those of you that enjoyed it to be left like we were in the end of season 2. Leave you comments bellow or on facebook or twitter.

Under the Dome Ratings & Interview

What did you think about the season 2 premier? Seems the ratings was lower than the season 1 premier and finale but still high.

The second season premiere of "Under the Dome" came in way below last summer's premiere and last fall's finale, but the Stephen King-scripted episode still ranked as Monday night's top show in all measures.

What did you think about the season 2 premier? Seems the ratings was lower than the season 1 premier and finale but still high.

We know before the season started that two characters were going to die in the first episode (personally I thought it was the wrong two) and here are two interviews with one of them. If you haven’t seen the episode you might want to do that before you click on the links.

Under the Dome Returns Tonight

Tonight Under the Dome returns to CBS for a second season. King has written the first episode and also has a cameo in it so it will be interesting to see where he’s going with the story. What’s a bit worrying though is that according to CBS there has been screeners sent out for this episode (not to me though) but there are no reviews to be found. Usually when a now season starts you hear something about it beforehand but not this time. Does that mean it’s bad? Does it mean it’s not worth talking about, or seeing? Does it mean that no one is interested? Could it be that I’ve been looking at the wrong places? Well, I have no idea. Hopefully it’s good but I guess since there are no reviews we’ll have to wait and see, right?
