Here's the plan for revealing the cover for Under the Dome UNDER THE DOME – Cover Reveal Copy
The jacket concept for UNDER THE DOME originated as an ambitious idea from the mind of Stephen King. The artwork is a combination of photographs, illustration, and 3-D rendering. This is a departure from the direction of King’s most recent, illustrated covers.
In order to achieve the arresting image for this jacket, Scribner art director Rex Bonomelli had to seek out artists who could do a convincing job of creating a realistic portrayal of the town of Chester’s Mill, the setting of the novel. Bonomelli found the perfect team of digital artists, based in South America and New York, whose cutting edge work had previously been devoted to advertisement campaigns. This was their first book jacket and an exciting venture for them. “They are used to working with the demands of corporate clients,” says Bonomelli. “We gave them freedom and are thrilled with what they came up with.”
This CGI (computer generated imagery) enhanced image looks more like something made for the big screen than for the page and is sure to make a lasting impact on King fans.
The multiple elements of this jacket art lend themselves perfectly to a unique, four-part jacket reveal campaign. The first aspect will be unveiled on September 21, followed by the release of additional images on September 25 and September 28, and culminating with the full reveal on October 5, when the world will see that everything is UNDER THE DOME.

From Rutland Herald.
It's not clear whether state officials will be able to organize a presidential visit in the near future, but before the end of the year Vermont will get a visit from a King.
As part of a tour supporting his forthcoming novel, "Under the Dome," author Stephen King will be in Manchester on Dec. 2 as a guest of the Northshire Bookstore.
Northshire event coordinator Linda Ellingsworth called it "the mother of all book signings."
"It's obviously thrilling. The people here said it's probably been 15 years since he's been back here," Ellingsworth said.
"It's always exciting when a writer of his stature comes through Vermont. The tough thing is going to be getting in the door (of the signing,)" Bissette said.
Given this unusual opportunity, Bissette said he hoped people who planned to attend would come up with some good questions for King.
Ellingsworth said the bookstore would probably create a separate page on its Web site to promote the event. Tickets may be available as early as the first week in August.

More info coming soon...
Interesting news from the moderator of King's official site about the signed collectors ed. of Under the Dome.
I can't confirm this with Scribner because they close down early on Fridays in the summer, but there's a rumor going around the grapevine that the signed limiteds will be going on sale through their website this weekend. You could try this link but if you don't see the signed limited showing up, use the Search function on their site.
In June it was mentioned that there would be an excerpt from Under the Dome in Entertainmet Weekley. It has now been revealed that it'll be in the fall (that's Sept., Oct., and Nov. in the States) issue.

I've been authorized to release the official information from Scribner about the collector's editions, so here you go:
Scribner will publish two Collector’s Editions. The regular Collector’s Edition will have a special jacket with a belly band, a stamped case, four-color printed endpapers, a ribbon marker, and will contain a set of 27 special trading cards featuring drawings of characters from the book (drawn by cartoonist Matthew Diffee). These drawings will also be featured in the book—as a frontispiece image and on the 26 part title pages. The book will be shrink-wrapped and Scribner will print only 25,000 copies of this edition, priced at $75.
Scribner is also offering 1,500 copies of a signed, limited Collector’s Edition. This contains all the special elements listed above, plus the book will be signed by the author. This is priced at $200.
This was posted on King's board yesterday so act fast if you want to go.
I've heard back from Scribner regarding the TimesTalk appearance. There will be a total of 350 tickets available but they have already sold over 200 so if you're considering this event, you may want to act quickly. They are on a first come, first served basis but they feel that all seats have excellent sight lines and that the theater is small enough to give an intimate feel.
The ticket price is not including the purchase of a book and nothing has been set in stone yet about there being signed copies available at this event.

A Conversation with Novelist Stephen King
On the publication of his latest novel, “Under the Dome,” celebrated storyteller and best-selling author Stephen King (“Just After Sunset,” “Duma Key,” “The Stand,” “The Shining” and more than 50 other novels) talks about his career as a novelist, screenwriter and columnist and discusses his new work, a tour de force set in a Maine town and featuring more than 100 characters who encounter a supernatural element as baffling and chilling as any the author has ever conjured. Interviewed by New York Times book critic Janet Maslin.
This info about upcoming signings to promote Under the Dome was released on King's message board a few hours ago.

Here is an article form The Guardian about hwo King completes epic novel after 25 years. In it he mentiones a little about Under the Dome:
Characters in the cast of more than 100 include Dale Barbara, a Gulf veteran and now a cook, the town's newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician's assistant at the hospital and three children. They're up against an evil politician, Big Jim Rennie – who's desperate to hold onto power and will stop at nothing, even murder – and his son, who in classic King style, "is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry". Meanwhile, time under the Dome is running out.
Here is a first look at the plot of Under the Dome:
On an entirely normal, beautiful fall day in Chester’s Mills, Maine, the town is inexplicably and suddenly sealed off from the rest of the world by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and fall from the sky in flaming wreckage, a gardener’s hand is severed as “the dome” comes down on it, people running errands in the neighboring town are divided from their families, and cars explode on impact. No one can fathom what this barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away.
Dale Barbara, Iraq vet and now a short-order cook, finds himself teamed with a few intrepid citizens—town newspaper owner Julia Shumway, a physician’s assistant at the hospital, a select-woman, and three brave kids. Against them stands Big Jim Rennie, a politician who will stop at nothing—even murder—to hold the reins of power, and his son, who is keeping a horrible secret in a dark pantry. But their main adversary is the Dome itself. Because time isn’t just short. It’s running out.
Under the Dome on YouTube? Here is the full USA Weekend article:
Stephen King has gone multimedia. "N.," one of the tales in the best-selling author's latest short story collection, "Just After Sunset," was turned into an original Web video series in conjunction with Marvel Comics. The collaboration has inspired King, 61; he's thinking about doing a YouTube video for his novel "Under the Dome," out later this year. Such projects are definitely fun, King says. "But with all these multimedia things, the story is the story still, the book is the book, and that's the source material. As J.R.R. Tolkien might say, 'That's the one ring.' It rules the other one."
