Scribner has announced that 11/22/63 will be out in paperback in October 2012 and also that both The Talisman and Black House will be re-released in hardcover in November. That and the fact that there are no other King book scheduled for this fall might get the optimist hoping that a third book about Jack Sawyer is closer than we know… Well OK that is probably not the case but you can hope, right?
Originally King had a different ending to his latest book 11/22/63 but after a suggestion from his son, Joe Hill, he changed it and now it looks like we might actually get to read the original ending as well… Here are what the moderator of King’s official board had to say about it.
I've read both of them and have been meaning to ask him if he would consider putting the first version on the site so people could compare. He told me he'd changed it because Joe had seen some problems with the way the first one was written but I don't know with 100% certainty whether Joe gave him specific ideas for the rewrite.
And then…
I was able to ask Steve about this, so here's his answer. Joe only told him that Jake had to meet Sadie again when she was an old lady but how that happened was completely Steve's idea so what we've read in the book was all Steve's writing based on Joe's suggestion to have Jake see Sadie one more time . He also told me it would be okay to put up the original version of the ending but I need to wait at least a month before doing so to give more people the chance to read it as published.
So, keep checking King’s site for that original ending to pop up.
This was just sent to me in an email from Veryfinebooks:

The moderator of King's message board just gave us some additional info about the limited edition of 11/22/63.
"My understanding is that 850 will be going on sale. There are more that were signed (1,000 total) that are being held back for author copies and for the publisher's use."
Tip sheets are flat signed (which just means no personalization). They are not numbered editions, just signed and will not be personalized as they are being shipped out immediately and Steve does not have the time to personalize them in any case with the book tour coming up.
This info was sent out to members of King's email list: 11/22/63 Signed, Limited Edition
The signed limited edition of 11/22/63 will go on sale at 9 AM ET on Tuesday, November 8th. This will be available on-line only through Simon & Schuster's web site. There will be a one book per customer limit, available to consumers only, no retail accounts. This is also limited to domestic US sales only.
Price $150 plus shipping & handling. Books ship immediately

Personally I don't like that they are limiting this to fans in the US though, that's just wrong if you ask me...
Apparently King is interviewed in this month's WIRED magazine as part of a "time travel" section. King talks about the new book 11/22/63. I haven't seen this one myself so I don't know about spoilers or if it's online.
